Greg L. McKinley is a children's author inspired by the beauty, wonder, and wildlife of the coastal shores surrounding Amelia Island, Florida.
Many years ago, while walking the beach with his granddaughter Bree, Greg found himself answering endless questions about seashells, tides, sea turtles, shorebirds, and the hidden treasures scattered along the shoreline. Those simple beach walks sparked the inspiration for the Bree's Beachside Quest, Guardians of the Shore series.
Through Bree's adventures, Greg hopes to inspire children to slow down, explore the natural world, ask questions, and develop a lifelong love for nature and conservation. His stories combine imagination, environmental stewardship, coastal discovery, and gentle STEM learning in ways that encourage curiosity, kindness, and wonder.
Greg has long supported local conservation and community efforts and believes that helping children understand nature is one of the most important ways we can teach them to protect it.
When he's not writing, Greg enjoys beachcombing, studying science and history, spending time with family, and continuing to explore the shoreline that inspired Bree's adventures.
